In 1979, Mr. Thian Boon Hua started a small stall in Chinatown serving Cantonese chicken rice. Building upon the popularity of his chicken rice and emphasis on quality service, he established his first restaurant named Boon Tong Kee on Balestier Road and include home-style cooked menus later on. Nowadays Boon Tong Kee, a family-oriented authentic Singaporean-Chinese restaurant has now become a must-visit destination in Singapore.

In Thailand Boon Tong Kee established its first branch at a community mall called “The Up Rama III” in 2014 with a determination to continue Mr.Thian Boon Hua’s intention to prioritize authenticity, variety, and consistency and to ensure that customers will feel as if they are dining at Boon Tong Kee’s original branch in Balestier Road, Singapore.

Presently, Boon Tong Kee (Thailand) has over 35 branches nationwide with the plan to reach the number of 40 branches by the end of 2024.
