Children who are diagnosed with congenital limb deficiency, cerebral palsy and other disabilities of the same kind face a life of struggle, barely being able to move and suffering from mental disorders. Treatment is essential in alleviating their suffering, increasing their mobility, and most importantly, to help improve their quality of life.

How will this project solve the issue?

ZMF strongly supports Vojta therapy, a treatment that stimulates and rehabilitates the deep muscle systems of the spine and extremities. Vojta involves a systematic analysis of babies and toddlers up to 18 months of age, allowing you to gauge key body developments (rolling, crawling, walking). Following early diagnosis (within the first 6 months of life), treatment is provided at decreasing intervals by therapists and continued on a day-to-day by parents (who are trained by the therapists). The results of Vojta therapy will make a difference for these children throughout their entire life.

How will your donation create impact?

The programme is currently training 24 therapists, who are expected to treat up to one thousand cases each year. The therapists, each who is expecting to treat up to 40 cases (children) per year, will also be responsible for training parents of the affected children to continue the treatment.

With every 2,250 baht donated, you can provide Vojta therapy for a child with a disability

The training cost per Vojta therapist falls at approximately 90,000 baht, and as mentioned prior, each therapist is expected to treat 40 children per year. The funds raised would be able to profoundly change the life of up to 40 children every year who are currently facing movement difficulties and mental disorders; especially Congenital Limb Deficiency Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy.

The treatment would help to alleviate their suffering, significantly increase their ability to move, and most importantly, aid in helping them experience life to a much greater extent. In summary, access to Vojta treatment wouldn’t only help the disability/mental disorder effected children, but it would enable parents to be able to better care for their children and create a better life for both the parents, and the children.

UPDATE : 2021

For this year, 2021,many activities have been changed owing to the covid-19 outbreak. The Zy Movement Foundation has attempted our best to keep our distance by avoiding gathering the group of people to do the empowering activity and suspending the travelling. Nevertheless,it is essential to provide the Children with Movement Disabilities support.

Therefore,we decided to establish “Online Medical Consultation” because we believe that the more help these children receive, the more they are able to stimulate and regain their cognitive capabilities. This project allows the children with movement disabilities to get a free online consultation by medical professionals. In addition, we also target to reach out 500 children with movement disabilities in 10 Association of South East Asian Nations or ASEAN countries by 2022.

UPDATE: ZMF Social Impact Report from Socialgiver funding (2019)

2019 was another successful year for Zy Movement Foundation (ZMF) – steadily on the path towards becoming an internationally renowned organization. ZMF has run 20 activities that help supported more than 4,000 children with mobility disability and had provided job opportunities for over 200 healthcare workers with regards to these children.

Parent Seminar for Parents living with children with mobility disability

The Parent Seminar for parents living with children with mobility disability was on 23rd August 2019 at the Rajanukul Institute in Bangkok. There were a total of 50 parents who came to learn from top pediatrician, vojta specialists and therapists rom Germany.

During the seminar, there were many sharing sessions where parents shared their experience and success stories regarding the use of vojta therapy with their children. Other sessions were inspirational talks by expert psychologist and “Tum Dee Duay Jai” (Do good from the Heart) volunteer group to help uplift the parents.

Parent Seminar Session 1: “How to care for children with mobility disability”

Assistant Professor Dr. Sureerat Sujritpong, pediatrician from Department of Pediatrics, Siriraj University, shared her knowledge on how to treat children with mobility disability, also how to do preliminary observation to see whether children might have mobility disability or not.

Parent Seminar Session 2: “Learning about Vojta Therapy”

By Assistant Professor Paris Wongseped from the College of Rehabilitation, a Vojta Specialist, Executive and Head of the Rehabilitation Department of Rehabilitation at Samrong General Hospital. He came to share his knowledge regarding the natural growth progress of a child and how vojta could help.

The second session then followed by Miss Wantanee Thongpill, Vojta therapist from Rajanukul Institute. She described the process of Vojta therapy as keying the right data input so that the child would be able to access those data once he/she is ready.

Parent Seminar Session Session 3: “My child was treated by Vojta Therapy”

by Mrs. Kornwara Asavalapnirandorn (Luan) and Mrs. Suwanna Numahan (Na) – mothers who have used Vojta therapy with their children that yielded satisfactory results. The session was moderated by Mr. Woranun Prasertmeth, Psychologist from The Rainbow Room Foundation.

Both mothers shared their inspirational experiences – from the big change in their lives once they realized that their children were living with mobility disability – to when they decided to use Vojta therapy – to now, when Vojta therapies showed good result.

Parent Seminar Session 4: ” Parents’ Happiness = Love for the children”

– Dance performance from children with mental disability and children with autism from Panyawoothikorn School

– Art exhibition by children with mobility disability, those who joined art therapy by ZMF. The proceeds from selling the art works will go directly to fund the foundation. Some of the artworks were made into tote bags, given to seminar attendees.

Joins the Parent Seminar, to commemorate the 10th year of medical collaboration between Zy Movement Foundation and Germany.

The funding from Socialgiver to Zy Movement Foundation since 2018 has supported 50 families to join the Parent Seminar.

UPDATE: Activities in 2018

The foundation has helped more than 4000 children, and 350 medical personnel working in this field through 20 activities. This has all been in accordance with the 4 main objective of the foundation.

Help disabled children with mobility impairments to be self-reliant. The foundation also supports them to live independently in society.
Enhance the capacity of parents who have children with congenital disabilities to learn and understand how to provide appropriate care and rehabilitation for children with mobility impairments.
Support the study, research, exchange of information and personnel related to the treatment and rehabilitation of disabled children from various sources from both Thailand and abroad
Raise awareness and educate society to build a positive attitude towards people with disabilities, especially regarding the aspect of equal rights

The Zy Movement Foundation, on the basis to fulfil its second objective, held a seminar for parents who have children with disabilities at Narai Hotel, Bangkok on November 9, 2018. The aim was to educate the 80 participating parents about disability care and teach them about the requirements that come with properly caring for their children. One of which is the workshop for mobility impairment treatment which utilises Vojta therapy. Prof. Dr. Frank Braatz, a leading expert in Vojta from the University Hospital of Heidelberg, Germany, and Dr. Parisawong, a specialist in diagnosing disabilities, provided firsthand knowledge on Vojta techniques to the parents. The seminar also invited parents to share their personal experiences with applying the skills they learnt through Vojta therapy on their children.

UPDATE: Zy Movement Foundation joins Socialgiver at the Good Sharing Expo 2017 (June 9-11, 2017)

The Zy Movement Foundation (ZMF) brought their team to the Good Sharing Expo 2017 at Central World.

The “Good Society Expo” was developed from the Sharing Society Festival (Khon Thai Khor Mue Noi), which was originally based on research from several sources, including “Khon Thai Monitor”, that a large amount of Thai people are interested in joining social activities, but do not know where or how to start. The main purpose of the expo, the first of its kind in Thailand, is to create a platform for collaboration between the various active social movement groups and the general public. It’s for the sake of demonstrating that anyone can be an “Active Citizen” and help in tackling the various social issues currently affecting Thai Society.

The “Good Society Expo” is a collaboration of more than 50 social organizations including Socialgiver. We were ecstatic to have ZMF join the booth in order to raise awareness for their project and fundraise for the cause via selling their merchandise and conducting charity games.

ZMF was able to raise 4,060 Baht over the three day period that the event was held.

UPDATE: Climb to Change a Life in Malaysia (9 April 2017)

MyEO Malaysia & ZMF Malaysia held an event that saw a group of 90 people conquer Bukit Gasing Hill, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia for the sake of the Climb to Change a Life project. The group was comprised of 9 different groups of volunteers, with 10 from the Eo team, 10 from a boy souts group, and other volunteers helped a group of 9 disabled children reach their goal of climbing the hill.

UPDATE: Climb to Change a Life #4 at Chang Suk Hill (November 2016)

Climb to Change a Life’s fourth project was a great success. A total of 200 people completed the Chang Suk Hill (Warrior Elephant Hill) Climb on the 27^th of November, 2016. We were overjoyed to see everyone happily making a change to these young people’s lives. The climb was completed by 29 disabled children, their families, an array of volunteers, and staff.

UPDATE: Fund usage plan for 2016

1. ZMF Objective #4: To heighten awareness and understanding on the issues faced by children with disabilities.

Support the campaign “Climb to Change a Life #4 / CTCAL #4, which is the key ZMF campaign for 2016. The campaigns goal is to take children with physical disabilities on a journey up to the mountain summits of Thailand with the help and support of families and volunteers. On the 4th climb, the goal is to bring 30 children with a disability to climb a mountain in the Petchaboon Province. Each team will comprise of 3 volunteers, 2 family members, and 1 child. Therefore, there will be a total of 30 teams.
Expected expense per team = 15,000 THB
The Zy Movement Foundation joined “Khon Thai 2016 event” in January 2016 by the Thai Health Promotion Foundation to recruit volunteers for the CTCAL #4.

2. ZMF Objctive #3 : To support and facilitate research exchange between medical health givers and institutions both domestically and internationally in the field of Pediatric Orthopedic. Specifically focusing on Prosthetics & Orthotics, Physiotherapy, and other related fields of treatments

Support the training of Vojta Therapy for medical staff in Thailand with the collaboration of the Children’s Hospital and the Sirindhorn Institute in order to enhance Thailand’s medical expertise.

3. ZMF Objective #2: To rehabilitate and empower families and caretakers of children with movement disabilities with the correct understanding of the physical and psychological management of themselves and the children

Seminars were organized concerning the rehabilitation and empowerment of families.
An organized family trip in collaboration with The Rainbow Room will be held in order to bring children with physical disabilities and/or autism to go on an outdoor field trip once a month.

4. ZMF Objecitve #1: To facilitate and empower children with movement disabilities (primarily from congenital limb deficiency and cerebral palsy) to have positive thinking, freedom of movement, and be able to independently live in society.

Organized trips to sports club and the Para-Olympics Association is used to promote and encourage the children to exercise. This is especially important for those with a physical disability and it may lead to a positive future representing their country in the Para-Olympics.

UPDATE: Congratulations! The ZMF has reached level 2 in their fundraising goals! (December 2015)

The Zy Movement Foundation has officially attained level 2, raising a total of 100,000 THB. After the deduction of a service fee to keep Socialgiver up and running, the rest of the profit will then be directly transferred to the Zy Movement Foundation to create even more change in the lives of disabled children. We will continue to keep all donors updated here.
