Many individuals don’t get mental health treatment because mental health illness is regarded as inessential, and those who seek help cannot afford treatment due to high cost and limited availability. Sati App aims to make mental health treatment accessible to any individual seeking support by providing free, empathetic, peer support service through Sati mobile application. Every 90 THB donated provides mental health support for individuals with mental health illness

Problem

Many individuals suffering from mental health issues are untreated because mental health problems are regarded as inessential and are widely stigmatized, but in every 10 minutes, there is 1 person attempting suicide in Thailand (WHO 2021). On the contrary, individuals who seek professional support cannot afford for mental health treatment due to high cost and limited availability.

Sati App Mission

Sati App aims to make mental health treatment accessible to any individual seeking support without cost. Available as a mobile application, Sati App addresses the importance of mental health wellbeing in hope to destigmatize mental health as an acceptable illness through facilitating peer support sessions.

Launched in early 2021, Sati App connects trained volunteer listeners with individuals who seek psychological attention and has provided a positive result to 4,462 individuals (2021).

Your Impact

Every Baht of your donation via purchasing GiveCards or direct transaction helps provide mental health service for individuals struggling with mental health illness. There is 1 mental health worker for every 250,000 people in Thailand, but your contribution to Sati App will drive mental health support to be equally accessible as Sati App will be able to reach out to more individuals with mental health illness that are unable to find help. Every 90 THB donated provides mental health support for individuals with mental health illness.

Introducing new feature on Sati App, a Beta version of Mood Tracker! Mood Tracker will help the user to track their mood daily and evaluate the overall state of our mood and the cause that may trigger that emotion.

Our application has provided a positive result to 4,462 individuals in 2021. This year we aim to go higher.

SATI phase 2: Pushing forward

SATI application serves to support anyone who is struggling with mental health no matter who they are or where they are; we believe that every individual deserves equal mental health treatment. Entering phase 2, we are ready to push closer to our goal – we will make mental health treatment accessible to everybody. Those who were left behind will no longer get abandoned.

Introducing our new geographic map feature that allows the application to track user’s location, we will be able to identify which area in Bangkok has the potential that its population, or community is diagnosed with or susceptible to mental health issues, for us to be able to correlate mental health issues tendency with location. With empirical data, we will be able to come up with an effective solution that will help alleviate mental health illness

At the moment, SATI application is only available in Thailand and is currently preparing to launch in Czech Republic. In our upcoming phase 2, the SATI team plans to expand the application to more countries.
